What it does
Technique training
Play a scale shape against the metronome and every note is graded as it arrives: clean, late or missed. Pitch and timing are measured separately, so you know which one failed.
Studio
Import a backing track, mark a section, loop it and slow it down. Record yourself over it as audio or video, then save the take or share it.
Tuner
Real-time detection on the device, ten instruments, over 30 standard and alternate tunings plus your own, and six A4 references from 432 to 442 Hz.
Chords and scales
20 scales and 20 chords drawn on the neck of your instrument in your tuning, with a fullscreen view and the chords that belong to the key.
Metronome
An audio engine that does not drift. 30-300 BPM, tap tempo, signatures from 2/4 to 12/8, and any beat of the bar accented or muted.
Ear training
Notes and intervals, answered on your real instrument rather than by tapping a button.
Why a wired signal matters
Grading a note requires hearing it exactly. An unamplified electric guitar is not a signal a detector can read reliably, and a room microphone drops notes as soon as there is noise. Plug into a USB audio interface and Afinora detects it, compensates its latency and tells you it is connected.
Tested with the Fender Mustang Micro Plus; other compatible USB audio interfaces should work the same way. Acoustic instruments can train through the phone microphone instead.
